For the 2024-2025 school year, all individuals wishing to substitute for Shepherd ISD must attend an orientation session before accepting an assignment at a campus.
This does not apply to existing Early Learning Center substitutes; you are not required to attend BUT if you would like to be considered as a new Early Learning Center substitute you will need to attend an orientation first.
We will be hosting our third orientation session on September 11th, at 11:30 AM in the SISD Anchor Room. Please be sure to bring all required documentation, even if you have previously substituted with Shepherd ISD (driver license, SS card, diploma or transcript).
If you have not substituted in SISD before, you will also need to complete the following application prior to the meeting: https://shepherdisd.tedk12.com/hire/ViewJob.aspx?JobID=779

Dear Shepherd ISD Family,
Tomorrow, we stand in solidarity and support for the Hays CISD community as they mourn the tragic loss of two individuals in last Friday's bus accident. As a symbol of our support during this difficult time, Shepherd ISD will be observing 💚🌿"Wear Green Day"💚🌿 district-wide.
We encourage all students, staff, and faculty to wear green attire tomorrow, as we honor the memories of those who are no longer with us.
Thank you for your participation and for embodying the spirit of unity and compassion that defines our Shepherd ISD community.
Texas Workforce Commission is hosting a Special Education and 504 Parent and Student Information night this Friday!
We would like to remind you that this Friday, March 22nd, will be a student holiday and a staff personal development day. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to your campus. Thank you for your continued support!
At Shepherd ISD, we are immensely proud to recognize the outstanding contributions of our dedicated diagnosticians. These remarkable individuals play a crucial role in ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive academically and beyond.
Your voice matters! We need to hear what's working for you and what you need. This year we will send routine text messages and emails with a few simple questions asking for feedback on your experience with school. You will receive these messages from Possip, an organization we have partnered with to learn your needs. Thank you!
We wanted to send out a quick reminder that this Friday, March 8th, will be a normal school day for all students and staff. It will be a makeup day for the missed day on January 24th. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your campus. Thank you for your continued support, and let's make this Friday a productive day of learning!
Did you know that this week is National School Breakfast Week? We want to emphasize how crucial it is for our students to eat a healthy breakfast before school each day. Studies have shown that eating breakfast can improve concentration, memory, and overall academic performance. 📚✏️ Plus, it provides the energy needed to kickstart the day on the right foot!
Here at Shepherd ISD, we're committed to ensuring that every student has access to a nourishing breakfast each morning. Whether it's at home or at school, let's make it a priority to fuel our bodies and minds for success! 💪
Don't forget! We will be live tonight on the Shepherd ISD Facebook page. See you then!
Shepherd ISD campuses and offices will be closed on Monday, February 19th, in observance of Presidents Day. We will resume our regular schedule on Tuesday, February 20th. We hope all of our Pirates have a safe and enjoyable holiday.
We want to bring your attention to an important update regarding the school calendar. Friday, March 8th, will be utilized as a bad weather make-up day for Shepherd ISD. On this day, classes will resume as usual, and the school district will operate on its normal schedule.
This decision is in response to the school closure that occurred on January 24th due to flooding and rising river levels in our community. Ensuring the safety of our students and staff is our utmost priority, and the closure was a mandated county measure to protect everyone during challenging weather conditions.
As we strive to maintain continuity in our academic calendar and provide our students with the necessary instructional days, March 8th has been designated as a make-up day. We understand that this may cause some inconvenience, but it's essential to make up for the lost instructional time to ensure our students' academic success.
We appreciate your understanding and support as we navigate through these adjustments to the school calendar.
At Shepherd ISD, we're proud to honor Black History Month by recognizing the incredible contributions and achievements of Black Americans throughout history. From trailblazers in civil rights to pioneers in science, art, literature, and beyond, their impact has shaped our nation in profound ways. Let's take this opportunity to deepen our understanding, foster unity, and inspire future generations to continue the legacy of progress and equality.
Are you passionate about early childhood education? Do you thrive in a dynamic and nurturing environment? Shepherd ISD's Early Learning Center wants YOU to join our team!
We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to fill various positions in our district daycare center. Whether you're an experienced educator, a nurturing caregiver, or someone looking to make a positive impact in the lives of young children, we have opportunities for you.
