We are proud to celebrate the academic achievements of Blaine Frerichs, Elizabeth Coyle, and Taylor Connick, who stand out as three of 72,000 students from across the country being honored by College Board’s National Recognition Programs. These programs recognize the outstanding academic accomplishments of underrepresented students and provide them with an opportunity to showcase their hard work during high school. Not only do these programs benefit the students themselves, but they also serve as an avenue for colleges to identify and recruit diverse, talented individuals.
To be eligible for these programs, students must apply on BigFuture and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Additionally, they must rank in the top 10% of PSAT/NMSQT® or PSAT™ 10 assessment takers in each state for each program, or have earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP® Exams. Furthermore, eligible students either attend school in a rural area or small town, or self-identify as African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, or Indigenous/Native. Invitations to apply are extended to students during their sophomore or junior year, and those who receive recognition will be notified at the beginning of the next school year.
It is important to recognize and celebrate the unique qualities and achievements of students like Blaine Frerichs, Elizabeth Coyle, and Taylor Connick, and to provide opportunities for their continued success and growth.
